GIM Out & About JUNE 2007 Dam to Dam Race Goals in Motion staff and members participated in the Dam to Dam Race in June 2007. Four participated in the full 12 miles and 15 ran the 5K Race.
AUGUST 2007 Dragon Boat Race A group of 25 Goals in Motion staff and members gathered in August 2007 and tried out their skills in paddling by participating in the Dragon Boat Races, which was a fundraiser for My Angel Foundation. This foundation is a non-proft organization supporting organ donations. The group not only showed some skill, but they held the fastest heat times most of the day and ended up finishing a very close 2nd place!!!! Talk about a physically demanding event!!!!
OCTOBER 2007 Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure Fifty Goals in Motion staff and members participated in the Race for Cure in downtown Des Moines in honor of Mary Merrick, instructor, and Linda Koele, member (both breast cancer survivors).
AUGUST 2008 Dragon Boat Races The Goals in Motion Team took 1ST PLACE after finishing as runner up in last years races. Endurance was the key this year as the GIM team paddled in several back to back races to get into the finals! It was a true TEAM EFFORT!!!!
February 2009 Future Hafner Hard Hitters (Sandy's niece and nephew, Ellie and Grant, getting a head start at GIM!
